David J. Whyte is one of the UK's foremost golf travel journalists and landscape photographers. A specialist in his home country of Scotland he has written and photographed several guides to golf in the 'Home of Golf'. Many other books contain his photography and travel stories. He is a main contributor to the new Globetrotters Golf series from New Holland Publishers with published titles including Globetrotters Golfers Guide to Scotland and Globetrotters Golfers Guide to Spain. A South-eastern USA title of the same series is now under research.
His award-winning golf landscape photography has appeared in many books, calendars and magazine front covers such as Golf World, Going for Golf, Golf Journal (Germany) etc. A print of St Andrews closing holes with the 'Auld Grey Toon' in the background took first prize in the landscape section of Fuji's Print of the Year Awards (1999).
Over the 16 years of his career, David's writing output to specialist golf magazine publishers is considerable. He has been a regular contributor to all the EMAP golf titles, responsible for text and photography for many of their regional golf supplements and area golf guides. Until recently he worked with Golf Monthly on the same basis. Going for Golf, Golf Links and Scotland's Bunkered magazine are all regular outlets. He is responsible for the content of the Scottish Tourist Board's (Visitscotland) main golf print as well as many area tourist board regional guides.
Over the years David has established strong working relationships with important titles such as Golf and Golf Digest (USA), Golf Odyssey (USA), Golf Journal (Germany), Golf Digest (Japan), Golf Digest (Australia) etc. He occasionally contributes to several in flight magazines. His articles and pictures are now syndicated world-wide with currently 120 key editors receiving email features suggestions directly for consideration. |
