In September 2006, a new website was devised and created by The McAlpine Partnership, to provide practical information on where and how to access local Ayrshire produce, renewable energy options for homes and businesses as well as energy advisory groups, plus a section on Ayrshire MPs and MSPs.

Localise Ayrshire's aim is to encourage the Ayrshire people to think 'locally'. The county is unique in the amount of farm shops it has with the added bonus of the successful weekly Ayrshire Farmers Market, supplying at source, healthier, top quality local produce at affordable prices. If more people buy direct from our farmers then the local farming community can continue to develop further directing Ayrshire towards self-sufficiency, because the current practice of transporting food from far away will not be sustainable.
